Under the sheltering rain

In my city, it rains. It rains with huge bubbles of water in which I could immerse if I wanted to. I think that, once inside, I could see the world outside just as Mircea Eliade used to describe it in one of his proses: "as if I had seen it from the interior of a grape"

I can only hope that its smell will still reach me. The sweet inexorable smell of the rain... The momentary rise of reason (Dan Voinea, that one goes to you!), the fusion and the dissolution of souls.

I feel that only poetry could fill in the small cracks opened by the rain drops. Only poetry could pour into our dried souls the way rain pours into dried highways. Frenetically, uneven.

Not so much like Rainer Maria von Rilke:

It rains down on us in those twittering
hours when the streets turn their faces to the dawn,
and when two bodies who have found nothing,
dissapointed and depressed, roll over;
and when two people who despise eachother
have to sleep together in one bed-

More like Pablo Neruda:

agua y piedras sostienen semillas y secretos.
